Samos is situated in the Eastern part of the Aegean Sea, at a short distance from the coast of Asia Minor. It is geographically located between the parallels 37.49 and 37.37 to the North and the meridians 26.33 and 27.04 to the East. To the East of Samos is Turkey and Asia Minor, from which Samos is separated by the "Eptastadio" channel, (called Dar Bogaz in Turkish) whish is only 1650 meters wide at its narrowest point. To the North is the chersonese of Erythrea (Turkey), Northwest is Chios Island, west and southwest is Ikaria and the Fournoi islands and to the South are the islands of the Dodecanese. The ones closest to Samos are Agathonisi, Arkoi and Patmos.

• Samos Island is located 330 km East of Athens in the Aegean Archipelagos. It is one of the major tourist attractions of Greece and thousands of Greek and foreign tourists visit it throughout the year, particularly during summer.Visitors can reach Samos Island, via Athens, either by plane or by boat (conventional or high-speed).


• Air Plane: The flight from Athens to Samos takes forty-five (45) minutes and costs approximately eighty (80) euros. The type of airplanes that normally fly to Samos is Olympic Airlines’ ATR 72-202 and Aegean Airlines. Another choice is to fly to Samos from Thessalonica. • Boat: Samos is connected via Ferry to several islands and ports of the Aegean sea such as: Patmos, Mykonos, Kos, Paros, Kusadasi (Turkey) and many more. High-speed boats, departing from the port of Piraeus, close to Athens, arrive to Samos after six (6) to seven (7) hours depending on the number of intermediate calls to other ports.
  
  The cost of the boat ticket is: Forty (40) euros for a second-class ticket and fifty (50) euros for a first-class ticket.In case you want to bring your car or motorcycle with you, an additional fare of seventy-five (75) or thirty (30) euros respectively will be charged.
